God provides for a friend

I have a friend who helps me with language learning one day a week, a hard-working widow with six children. For the past few months, when she would see my prayers answered, she would keep asking me to pray that she could get a house or rather, land for a house. Poor people here are so happy to have land, even if all they could afford is to put up a tent on the property. When you have to rent a place or live with relatives it makes you very vulnerable. So, I prayed with her for God to give her a house. I didn’t really expect anything to come of it. A couple of weeks later she came to tell me, “I got land for a house.” I was slow on the uptake, but as the story came out, she explained how it all happened. “I have been asking ‘older sister’ (a term of respect for me) to pray that we could get a house and now God has given us a house.” She went on to say that since meeting us, her whole life has changed. I’m not sure who was more excited for all this, my friend or me. My friend finished her house at the end of August, in answer to our prayers, a small rudimentary place, but it is her own, and a place where she can raise her children in peace. Thank God for answering prayer.
