Contact from a Chai Shop

Last week my wife and I had an urge to go to a local park where we had not been for a long time. When we got there my wife saw a lady she knew. While they talked, I sat on the grass a few meters away. After a few minutes a young guy came up to me and said he recognized me. We had met over a year ago in a chai shop. I invited him to sit with me. He was from a very conservative and uneducated area. As I chatted with him and shared the gospel, he had such an open spirit. It seemed like he was getting it, and we talked about many wonderful things before he left.

The next day I decided to go back to the park. The same man had also returned and this time he brought a friend. We had a good chat, getting to know each other. At the end of the conversation, the second man said I should become like them and believe the same way they do. I told him how precious Jesus was to me and that I cannot change. At that point the first man, with whom I had shared the day before, jumped in enthusiastically. He beautifully shared the gospel with his friend, way better than I could have done. It was so encouraging to hear that he did understand everything that was shared with him and now he was passing the good news along to his friend. This is the joy of carrying Jesus wherever we go – like into a chai shop or a park.
