Today, our doorbell rang, which is unusual. Since moving into this apartment, we have had very few visitors coming to our door. Our immediate neighbour and his daughter rang to tell us that their daughter broke our flowerpot – our first actual encounter with them. We were not worried about the flowerpot, but it was so thoughtful of them to confess. They went on to say, “Please let us know if there is anything you need. We are neighbours.” This was the first welcome we have received from anyone in our building. I had waited for an opportunity to connect with this family but wasn’t sure how to go about it. All I could say after they left was, “Thank you Jesus for this broken flowerpot.”
