One day after going to the gym, I stopped at a nearby tea shop for a drink and after awhile got chatting with a couple of guys. They eventually asked me if I was a Muslim. “No, I replied, I’m a follower of Jesus.” One of the young guys then made a comment that it is good for each person to study their own faith. At this comment I shared a story I give quite often, “If you have one flower at your house (these people love flowers), and you say that your flower is the most beautiful flower in the world, but you don’t look at the field of different flowers around you in search of the most beautiful one, then how do you know that yours is the most beautiful of all? It’s important for us to search for the truth.” I knew that the guys around me understood I was talking about faith. I went on to say, “If you seek the truth and the right path then you will find it. Jesus is the Way.” I was encouraged by the young man’s response. He said honestly, “I was born a Muslim, but my heart is empty.” Most young men of this tribe are too proud or afraid of societal pressure to confess such things.
Pray that Jesus reveals Himself to this young man as he searches for truth.
