We started the English Café four years ago to teach English to Japanese women. Since last year, many women have started attending and more have joined this year. We hold it twice a month. The women really enjoy the chatting time and learning some simple English words. We have started looking at stories of Bible characters starting from Genesis. Surprisingly, they have many reflections and takeaways from these simple stories. Last month we looked at the story of Joseph. During the discussion we asked them why Joseph was able to forgive his brothers. One woman said it was because of their blood relationship; they had brotherly affection. Another woman said it was because Joseph had grown up and matured, it made him able to let it go. Then a usually quiet woman spoke up and said that Joseph was able to forgive because he trusted God. This was very encouraging to me. They have received and shared a lot from the Bible. Pray that these Japanese women will open their hearts to the Lord.
