Praise from Every Tribe and Tongue

Early in the course I was teaching we discussed the fact that many things we do in our daily lives can be done as acts of worship to God. On our last day of classes, the students planned and led a contextualized service including communion for everyone. They chose to act out the story of the tower of Babel from Genesis 10. A striking element of the drama was the moment when God confused their speech. Each student switched from speaking the national language to speaking their own indigenous languages. It was a strong illustration of how the gospel is now coming to all these previously isolated language groups.
