Our need of food, both spiritual and physical, can open a door to share the gospel. “Jesus said, I am the bread of life… If anyone eats of this bread he will live forever.” John 6: 35 & 51
We have restarted what we call the Community Banquet. This is where we throw open our doors and say, “Come and eat and hang out.” There is no agenda, no program, just food and an enjoyable time for all who come. Our first one went very well with 750 people, with many kids, at our Anchor Point centre in Birmingham. We were glad we were prepared to receive children. We did face painting, colouring, rub on tattoos, and a bouncy castle. Our arts team did a couple of presentations for the adults which were well received. This event was meant for sharing the Gospel through love and to build relationships. The Gospel was shared gently through testimony and drama. Connections made with the surrounding community were phenomenal. So many people need help and need Jesus.
Not just eating food but also bearing fruit! Betel UK has seen a rise in men wanting to come in to find freedom from drugs. On Easter Sunday three of the men in the program were baptized. Pray that all who come in will taste and see that the Lord is good.
